Hello NCMA Puget Sound Members! 

We hope this message finds you well as we wrap up another exciting year. We are thrilled to bring you a few updates from our chapter, introduce your new board members, and share some exciting opportunities for community engagement and professional growth. We have much to look forward to in the months ahead!

Meet Your New Board Members!

We’re excited to introduce our newest board members, who bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to our chapter. Please join us in welcoming:

Matt Versdahl, President - mversdahl@usf.edu

Matt Versdahl, CPCM, is the lead faculty member in the purchasing and supply chain management and project management programs at Shoreline Community College in Shoreline. Matt is also the Statewide Transportation Asset Manager for the Washington State Department of Transportation and is a doctoral candidate in business at the University of South Florida.

Jeffrey Hansen, Past President - Jeffrey.hansen2@va.gov

Jeff Hansen is a Contracting Specialist with the United States Department of Veteran Affairs, Strategic Acquisition Center, working with the Medical Surgical Prime Vendor Program. He joined the VA and Network Contracting Office 20 in November of 2020 as a Contract Specialist working with Service and Supply Contracts. Previously he served as a Business and Management Analyst for the State of Washington and retiring from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service in 2015. He is also an Adjunct Business Professor with Pierce College. In his spare time, he enjoys watching Husky Football, playing tennis, running, hiking, and mountain biking, along with spending time with his family.

Dana Shay, Vice President of Administration – Secretary - dana@nwra.com

Dana Shay is the Manager of Contracts & Grants at NorthWest Research Associates (NWRA), a small earth-science organization located in Seattle’s University District. She has over 14 years’ experience in federal R&D contracting and subcontracting and a background in linguistics and environmental economics. When she’s not working, she enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Stacy Tremaine, Vice President of Finance – Treasurer - stacy.m.tremaine@lmco.com

Stacy Tremaine is a seasoned contract management professional who has brought expertise in negotiating and managing OTAs and FAR-based agreements for domestic and international programs. Outside of the office, you can find her cheering on the Seattle Sounders as a season ticket holder or spending quality time with her niece and nephew. 

Sean Garcia, Vice President of Education & Certification - sean.garcia@icertis.com

Sean Garcia is an experienced and passionate Aerospace & Defense contracting executive, with nearly 40 years of experience.  He works in Icertis’ Professional Services organization, dedicated to successfully implementing its AI-infused Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system, ICI for Government Contractors, for its customers in the federal space. Sean has been deeply involved with CLM implementations for the last 8 years. Sean is a former National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Board of Director and Boeing / Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) Executive Focal. Named by ALPFA as Executive of the Year in 2018. 

Sherry Shaffer, Vice President of Web & Marketing Communications - sherry.shaffer@seattle.gov 

Sherry Shaffer is a Contracts & Procurement Advisor for Seattle Public Utilities. With 25 years in government contracting, Sherry plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with legislated requirements, implementation of best practices, and incorporating and elevating City and department values, significantly improving the quality and success of the Utility's contracts. Outside of work she enjoys time with her family, crocheting baby blankets, and traveling.

Laurie Davis, Vice President of Membership - laurie.davis@gsa.gov

Laurie Davis is a Senior Procurement Analyst for GSA Federal Acquisition Service. She has over 20 years of experience in contract management and a blended history of government and commercial experience. Laurie holds two NCMA certifications (CFCM, CCCM) and is a Past President of the NCMA West Sound Chapter.

These awesome individuals will help guide the direction of the NCMA Puget Sound chapter, with renewed focus on providing valuable resources, networking opportunities, and impactful learning experiences for all members. We’re confident they will bring fresh ideas and a strong sense of community to our group!

December 11th 2024, 5pm-6pm PST: NCMA Certifications Overview (1 CPE)

January 16th  2025, 5pm- 6pm, 2025: NCMA Puget Sound Happy Hour! 

February 5th  2025, 5pm-6:30pm PST: Government Contracts Regulatory Review with Jim Nagle (2 CPE)

March 5th 2025, 5pm-6pm PST: AI in Government Contracting (2 CPE)
